Each United Church of Canada Camp is evaluated on an extensive set of standards, covering all aspects of the camp experience, from food service to site safety, employment practices to spiritual development curriculum. Lambton Centre was also visited by an Accreditor from the Ontario Camping Association. The OCA evaluates the current safety standards and principals of Camps within Ontario and provides a framework to objectively evaluate camp excellence. Lambton Centre’s Summer Camp Program was pleased to received full marks for both accreditation in 2014, with a perfect score of 100 percent in all categories!! Registration: Registration will take place at 7pm on the Sunday of camp (Exception: Little People’s registration will take place at 9am on the Wednesday) Splash camp is a day camp available for children aged 5-12 where kids will experience all the activities that camp has to offer such as low ropes, crafts, archery, mountain biking, geocaching, swimming and team challenges in a supervised atmosphere.

Day camp is a great opportunity for kids who have never been to a residential camp to check out the activities that are offered and learn what overnight camp may be like. Busing is offered from Petrolia and Sarnia for all campers. Lunch daily and one snack is included as well. Pick-Up each day will be 4pm Do you wish you could spend all summer playing video games, but your parents insist that you go outside? Then this week is perfect for video games lovers, because you’ll get the best of both worlds. For playing video games, you will perform your best with a healthy mind and body, and this week will teach you about the importance of those things. Your week will be full of many other activities including: camping, archery, swimming, gaga ball, chapel, low ropes and more…! This year’s theme will be: Space Sports and Arts Week This Week campers choose to specialize in either sports or arts for the week. Campers who select sports activities will be able to enjoy a range of indoor and outdoor sporting activities such as: soccer, basketball, mountain biking, swimming, archery, low ropes, and GagaBall!

Painting, sculpture, music, dance, and drama are but a few of the arts that will be available to those who choose the Arts option. These fun activities are in addition to the traditional camp activities available to all our campers. This year’s theme will be: Ancient Greece This half week of camp offers younger children the opportunity to try out camp and all of the great activities that the Centre has to offer while being supported and fostered in a Christian environment. Explore nature, learning with friends, singing and learning new songs, cook outs of the fire, low ropes, swimming, crafts and lots of other activities that support development but more importantly, are FUN! This years theme will be: Adventures in the 100 Acre Woods!! Whether you prefer to call it “All Girls” week, or “no boys” week, this week is sure to peak girls’ curiosity and interest. Following the structure of a typical camp week, campers will experience all of the wonderful activities and outdoor adventures that Lambton Centre has to offer.

This week promises to be full of energy, joy, excitement, and friendships…and most importantly, free of boys! This year’s theme will be: Under the Sea This week of camp is a traditional week blended with the opportunity to explore camping outside of Lambton Centre. All campers and staff will participate in a two night stay at the Pinery paired with exciting and challenging activities such as canoeing, photo scavenger hunts, swimming at the beach and learning how to camp. In addition to the 2-night off site trip, campers will participate in low ropes, hiking, archery, group challenges, crafts, games and spending time with other teens! This year’s theme will be: Indiana Jones Leaders In Training (LIT) This program is designed for youth age 15 and up who enjoy working with children and want to further develop their leadership skills. During training week, LIT’s will participate in interesting and interactive workshops and activities designed to challenge and motivate them to reach their leadership potential.

Programming includes sessions on effective verbal and non-verbal communication, conflict resolution, mediation, goal setting, effective teamwork, behaviour management, program planning and healthy child development. Campers who successfully complete the training week will participate in two weeks of cabin placement working directly with a counsellor. Fee includes resource manual and t-shirt. Family Camp is a weekend of fun and growth for you and your family! Enjoy meeting other parents and partaking in hiking, worship, games and crafts while your kids do the same! Our staff prepares all meals and organizes activities; You’ll find this weekend includes adult-only time, fully supervised programming for children, and camp-wide activities where everyone is invited to join in the fun.
