The board-to-board color variation is more pronounced in some species, less in others. If you like the look of contrasting light and dark tones, select a species that offers most color variation. If you prefer consistent color from board to board, choose the least color variation. Kempas is slightly acidic and can be corrosive to metals. The wood accepts stains and finishes well. Pics to come later. Greg gave provided me with lots of information that helped me to get the wood floors i wanted and the correct amount. I had ordered it originally back in 2012 to install it on the main floor of our house. It's absolutely gorgeous, people are always commenting on what a beautiful floor it is. Sadly we had some water damage and the masterbedroom flooring had to be torn out, though I have to say even with standing water on it, the flooring handled it like a champion, there were only a few boards (the 1 footers) that ended up swelling/cupping and the finish ended up cracking so we opted to replace the whole bedroom. The replacement Kempas was even more beautiful than the first order. It lacked the colour range (yellows, oranges, red, browns) of the first order and was more uniformly red, but the irridescence! The Kempas of the second order is a show stopper and the only thing I don't like is that it is going to be hidden under a kingsize bed and bedroom furniture and that's an absolute shame.

The Salerno Beachwood tile looks perfect in our hallways, laundry and bathroom in the basement and is excellent quality. The Lamton Princeton Pecan laminate flooring is amazing, even my father, a professional flooring contractor couldn't believe it when I showed him the floor's water resistance ability. Laminate is notorius for bubbling and swelling when it gets wet and this flooring does neither. I soaked the sample piece in warm water for about 30 minutes and it didn't effect it at all. It's incredibly durable as well. Excellent product and so glad I bought it to finish off the basement where I can't put hardwood. Out of 425+ SF of product I only had one board that had a defect. Every board was straight as an arrow and there was no need to force anything together. Very happy with the Kempas hardwood. You may also need...
