This is a historical list of the legal brothels in Nevada. They are arranged by name within location (the nearest town or named place) within each county that licenses such establishments. Defunct establishments are retained for completeness. Note, however, that this list so far only covers the modern era of brothel prostitution in Nevada, from about 1950 onward, after the closure of the red light districts of Reno and Las Vegas. According to the Nevada Brothel Finder site, there are 24 legal brothels in Nevada as of February 2014.[1] While prostitution is legal in parts of Nevada, it is illegal outside these licensed brothels. Prostitution is illegal under state law in Clark County, which contains Las Vegas and its metropolitan area. Other counties may choose to allow it, if they desire to. Currently Washoe County (which contains Reno), Carson City (an independent city), Douglas County, and Lincoln County ban brothels. Eureka County has no law on the books either permitting or prohibiting licensed brothels and currently has no brothels.

The other counties permit brothels, but some of them do not currently have any active brothels. By local ordinance, brothels are restricted to the Mound House area. Prostitution made illegal in 1978, but several legal brothels operated before then. Restricted brothels to Mound House area, east of Carson City, in 1970, forcing brothels in other parts of the county to close. Ash Meadows brothel, motel, and dirt airstrip was located a short distance from the small town of Death Valley Junction. The facilities consisted of a small motel, bar, and brothel. The dirt and gravel airstrip was on the southside, running North and South. The North end adjoined the small facility. It was a fairly secluded location in the high desert. They've head-bumped, wrapped tails ...and intertwined their souls every day for 10 years. We recently had to put Eddy to sleep due to terminal stomach cancer - it broke our hearts. We worried so much about Teddy, but she knew something we didn’t: when love is this strong, it’s eternal. Teddy is keeping their love alive by sharing it with Croucher and our volunteers - she never let us pet her until now. His new owners need to be prepared to spend A LOT of time cuddling him. I think he wants to make up for lost time. He hates his medicine and having his wounds cleaned but with a few seconds he's forgiven me and is back in my lap. Ziggy was in a small crate last night and I forgot he didn't have a litter box.

He of course soiled himself and had to have a bath. He cried and yelled and voiced his disp...The water also loosened the scab on his biggest wound. That gave me the opportunity to see the progress he's made. The infection is almost gone and the wounds are healing quickly now. We are looking for the right home for Ziggy. He has been hanging around his neighborhood since his owner moved and abandoned him and several other cats. Two weeks ago someone put a collar on him. We don't know what happened to Ziggy, but he has been like this for a while. His wounds were infected and putrid. The vet thinks he was attacked by a dog or coyote. He was neutered while he was sedated and doesn't even seem to notice. Ziggy is a very loving affectionate cat.

He hates getting his meds and having his wounds cleaned, but he always comes right back for cuddles. He tries to make friends with my dogs which says a lot about his personality if he has indeed been attacked by a canine. Ziggy will soon be available for adoption. He likes going on long hikes and playing in the snow. He does well with other dogs. He survived an outbreak of Parvo that killed several of his siblings. He found a home but was returned for being a rowdy puppy. He then found another home where he lived with a loving family for three years. He was returned to us due to family dynamics changing. He misses being part of a family. Ma...rio is THE BEST behaved foster dog I've ever had. He's house trained, has good manners, adores kids, has obedience training, gets along with other dogs, loves my cat, he's just about perfect. His only bad habit is that he barks when left. I think that would resolve itself once he was back in a home with a family.
