Border Collie Puppies For Sale Switzerland

The Border Collie is a well-balanced, medium-sized dog of athletic appearance. The body is slightly longer than the height at the withers. It is very agile, and has a well proportioned body of lean muscle. This dog breed is highly intelligent and hard-working that responds quickly and eagerly to training. The Border Collie is the world's premiere unsurpassed as a sheepdog in terms of agility, stamina and patience. It excels in obedience competitions. It thrives on games and is willing to please. The Border Collies are bred for working ability and intelligence rather than for physical beauty. It appears in many colors, with various combinations of patterns and markings. The most common color is black with or without the traditional white blaze, collar, stockings and tail tip, with or without tan points. A variety of primary body colors is permissible; solid color, bi-color, tri-color, merle and sable dogs are judged equally with dogs having traditional markings. White should never predominate.
Two varieties are permissible, both having soft, dense, weather resistant double coat. It is generally a hardy breed, but some are prone to hip dysplasia, PRA and an eye disease (common to Collies known as Collie Eye Anomaly). Many dogs are allergic to fleas and some are prone to epilepsy and deafness. To minimize the risk of your Border Collie developing any hereditary health issues, you should buy a Border Collie puppy from a reputable breeder. Border Collie Rescue added 2 new photos.Busy couple of days so have not had time to post but here is a quick update on Mirk with a photo taken yesterday (when the sun was still shining). Mirk improving but still a little lopsided. Had a bit of a relapse the day before yesterday but getting better. All his remaining issues are with his left side of his face and body and he remains uncoordinated on that side only with a bit of a droop to his eye.
Carrying on with second course of Vivitonin to keep him well oxygenate...d and physio to help his co-ordination. We keep hearing on the weather reports on the radio that today the country is basking in sunshine - but here it is overcast, damp and rather cool. Border Collie RescueAs a preview to the Dales Bus (2 hr slow TV film) to be broadcast on 29th August on BBC4, here is a 17 minute real time film we made a few years ago combining footage from a Go-Pro camera mounted on the bonnet of our van and some off road footage at certain key points using small Sony HVR-VIE handheld. The route covers around 5 miles of road across the moors from Langthwaite in Arkengarthdale to Low Row in Swaledale and takes in a few features used in the James Herriot 'All Creatures' TV series and film. /watch?v=4_d2ieX5hKoBorder Collie Rescue - The Road to Low RowBorder Collie RescueThursday greetings from our two old lefties! Sorry the photo is a little blurred but they were moving so fast the camera couldn't compensate!
Mirk is much better today and the funny thing is that Nap, who has an air of great superiority when it comes to mixing with other dogs, has began to accept him as an equal and tolerate his company. Possible bonding based on shared experience? Like Derek Zoolander, neither of these dogs are ambiturners any more but who wants to turn right anyway - just do a 270 and your sorted..................Border Collie RescueA bit of slow TV which will take you on the route we travel every day up and down the Dale. Dubbed the most scenic bus ride in the country you will see the views we are privileged to enjoy every time we go shopping! 8pm to 10pm on Monday August 29th 2016 on BBC Four http://www.bbc.co.uk/…/late…/2016/all-aboard-the-country-bus BBC - BBC Four announces new Slow television special, All Aboard! The Country Bus - a two-hour bus journey through the Yorkshire DalesBorder Collie Rescue added 3 new photos.Up at the high field the views are subdued. Not the best of days for the fearsome hunters gathering on the tops to challenge the might of the savage grouse, but undeterred they are out in force and armed to the teeth.
By the end of the day a good proportion of the Grouse who have managed to survive winter, predators, walkers and mountain bikes crushing their nests and the shortage of food and prevalence of disease will be dead and carried off as trophies and the moors will be a safer place for us all. Should we be offering our thanks to those fearless, wealthy individuals who, armed only with a vast number of high powered shotguns, selflessly risk getting cold and damp in order to protect us from these fierce and dangerous birds.Border Collie RescueBit foggy up Dale this morning. The fog allows gangs of predatory bovines to lurk hidden in ambush at places they know their victims are bound to venture, like crossroads on tracks on the moor. Here they can wait until unsuspecting humans come their way and.....pounce!Border Collie RescueMirk sends his thanks to everyone who has commented and emailed wishing him well. He is pleased to be back on his feet today, a bit wobbly but not falling over. Appetite is back and he's eating what is put in front of him - which is encouraging because the only thing that has ever put him off his food before has been an impending thunderstorm.
Yes, Mirk predicts thunderstorms - usually around 24 hrs in advance.... He's not afraid of thunder but does seem to be sensitive to atmospheric pressure changes! Border Collie RescueMr Nap says 'Hope you've had a nice day - I have"Border Collie RescueIt's a nice sunny day but not too hot so Mirk is outside in the fresh air with one of the sheds providing shade and support! He's a little droopy on his left side and still very disorientated but has eaten and is taking his tablets - although very reluctantly.Border Collie RescueWe get news feeds from all over. The Wolds Way is a 79 mile national walk though the East and North Ridings of Yorkshire from the banks of the Humber to the cliffs of Filey Brigg.
They had company to keep them in check. Otherwise Tess would have conquered the two Ridings and Mead would now be running them!Border Collie RescueSad story from the USA shows how callous some humans can be even though the guy who did it may argue mitigation due to his condition. Not all humans are fit and able enough to be responsible for the care of animals. Putting it on here in the hope that some of our US based followers could maybe make a small donation towards its predicted $2500 veterinary fees. /…/|By FOX 4 News Kansas CityBorder Collie RescueThis is Mirk. Now coming up 13. (Photo is 7 years old) He is one of our oldies and a long termer in sanctuary. Last night he had a stroke. He has survived but is unsteady on his feet, confused and off his food at the moment and under medication. Fingers crossed that this is a chance 'one off' and there is not something more serious underlying it.... Those that knew him will remember he is a smart boy, just very, very sensitive and perhaps a little too amorous in the past!
