Bissell Carpet Cleaner Won'T Spray Water

If the rubber nozzle isn't positioned just so, or if it's missing, the cleaner will not spray water or cleaner. If you see this rubber piece, remove it and reposition it, making sure it's seated properly in the hole. If it is missing, you will need to order a new piece. Why did this happen? 1,042 posts, read 2,241,884 times Just got this from Costco yesterday...it is the Bissel Proheat2x. Cleaned the bedroom and got it all ready to start on the carpet. Put it together myself, followed every bit of instruction. Got it going and started at it. Then I discovered that it was not sucking up any of the dirty water. The soap dispenser was working the bladder water was being sprayed out, but no suction. I called Bissel and got someone in India. She walked be thru, but no luck or should I say no suck.. I am going to take it back to Costco, but right now I have a fan trying to dry out the carpet, and I have to go thru this process with either a replacement or call a professional. The PowerSteamer uses a two-in-one tank to combine the water and cleaning solution, which is activated using a trigger on the unit handle. The cleaning solution then sprays onto the surface and the user pushes the PowerSteamer back and forth over the damp area. If the device will not spray cleaning formula when the tank is full, the lint screen or the pump belt could be the problem. Turn off and unplug the PowerSteamer. Remove the tank from the main unit and fill with clean, hot water to the fill mark on the side of the tank. Open and turn over the tank lid to locate the lint screen on its underside. Remove the lint screen and rinse it with cold water. Replace the lint screen and close the lid on the tank. Reseat the tank back into the cleaner and ensure it is positioned securely. Restore power to the PowerSteamer and turn it "On." Wait one minute and squeeze the spray trigger. If it still does not spray cleaning formula, turn the machine off and unplug it. Use a flat-blade screwdriver to open the latch on the belt access door located on the side of the unit.
Remove the door and examine the pump belt for signs of damage or breakage. Contact Bissell for a new pump belt if it is broken. Do not use the PowerSteamer until the belt has been replaced.
