We had a bad experience last year but I was willing to give them a 2nd chance. This year our HVAC compressor went out amidst 95 degree temperatures. My home is 90 degrees every day with fans going. I called AHS, their affiliate technician took 3 days to come out and assess the problem, despite my request for expediency. The technician confirmed the broken compressor and said someone would be in touch within... Waiting over 2 months to have our dishwasher repaired. They've sent out 2 worthless appliance companies who won't show up for the scheduled appointments.
Trying to get American Home Shield to replace it.........getting nowhere. We will not be renewing our contract with them and I've filed a complaint with the BBB. Don't waste your time or money with them because when you truly need them, they will not have your back. Our local contractor SUCKS! In the past 7 years we've had two water heaters go out and multiple problems with our central a/c. Each time the same contractor is called. Each time we are without water/air for more than 48 hours. This time the technician was scheduled to arrive between 8 and 12 (36 hours after scheduling the service). The service provider called to tell me he had a personal emergency at 9... so now it's 2 o'clock and we still... When I purchased my warranty from AHS, I paid in full. I have put in one service call to the company about my built in microwave, had a technician come to my home to ascertain the problem (he was at my home all of 20 minutes), left and the next thing I know AHS tells me the microwave has to be replaced.
They send a new (150+) microwave to my home and now they won't assign the installation to a vendor that will not force me to take time off... My AC went out on 6/16. They assigned the repair to Express Comfort Heating and Air. Express called 6/17 to schedule repair. After rescheduling many times, they arrived 6/27. They said they completed the repair and charged me $380. On 7/19 it went out again. AHS sent Express back out. They still didn't fix it. After several additional calls, emails and posts to their Facebook site, AHS finally contacted me. Said no one ever. They charge a ridiculously high service fee every time a technician comes out. And oh, did you forget to mention something to AHS when you called to request a tech? Too bad, you need to schedule another request, pay another $75 for another tech to come out. Oh, did the plumber say nothing was wrong? Too bad, now you have a hole in your living room ceiling beneath your shower. Oh, has it been more than 60 days since...
It is more than 3 weeks I made a claim but American Home shield customer service does not have any update about my claim. Customer service so careless about customers. Customer service does not talk to purchasing department and purchasing department does not talk to customer too. It is a big chaos. Supervisor does not pick up phone too. I think American Home doing good business now that is why they don't care now. Supervisor does not pick up... Very poor customer service! Looks for every way to charge customers9/5/2016 @ 6p.m. mountain standard time I called to submit a request for my erupted water heater and was unable to speak with any live Representatives due to technical issues with the phone systems. I processd my request through the automated system and received confirmation and a phone number to the preferred vendor (Am Pm Plumbing- queen Creek az). I continued to call American Home Shield with hopes... I own the best Trane Air handler unit with electronic filtration system.
